View the paintingsValerie has painted for the better part of her life, mostly in the early hours when the light is still soft and the house is quiet. Her work returns again and again to the same small subjects — a field at the edge of town, a window, a table set for the morning — and to the way light settles over ordinary things.
Each painting is made by hand in oils, often over many weeks. She paints slowly, and she paints what she loves.
